Dear Napoleon is an independent iOS app operated by Nicolò Bernardini (Helvexia), Locarno, Switzerland. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run and improve the app. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

What we collect, and why. All of the data below is linked to your account so the app can show you your own progress, manage your subscription, and be improved:

Name — the soldier name you choose during onboarding, used to personalize the app. You may enter any name you like.

Email address — used to identify your account, restore your subscription, and answer support requests.

Gameplay content — your daily evening reports, campaign progress, streaks, medals and settings. This is your own record; it is self-reported and is not verified against any other source.

User ID — an app-generated identifier that keeps your progress and subscription tied to your account and lets us analyze how the app is used.

Purchase history — which subscription you buy and its status (trial, renewal, expiry), used to unlock premium features. Payment is handled by Apple; we never see or store your card or payment details.

Usage data — anonymous events about how the app is used (screens viewed, features used, actions taken). We use this analytics data only to understand usage and improve the app. It is not used for advertising or shared with data brokers.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, browsing history, or advertising identifiers.

Continental Blockade (Screen Time). If you use this optional feature, the app uses Apple's Family Controls / Screen Time framework to limit the apps you choose during the windows you set. The apps you select are represented by opaque tokens handled entirely on your device by Apple. We never see which apps you choose, and this information never leaves your device or reaches our servers. You grant this access with a system prompt and can revoke it at any time in iOS Settings.

Who processes data for us. Apple processes your subscription purchase and payment. RevenueCat manages subscription entitlements on our behalf (purchase history and the app-generated user ID). PostHog provides product analytics on our behalf (usage data and the app-generated user ID). These providers act as our processors and do not use your data for their own purposes. We do not sell your data or share it for third-party marketing.

Retention and deletion. We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can erase your account and its data at any time from within the app ("Definitive discharge" in Settings), or by emailing us, and we will delete it.

Your rights. Under the GDPR (EU/EEA) and the Swiss FADP you have the right to access, correct, or delete your data and to withdraw consent. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Children. Dear Napoleon is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
